Candied Yams 

Ingredients: One half cup light or dark corn syrup, One large (40 oz.) can cut sweet potatoes, drained; One cup brown sugar, One half cup of butter, One tablespoon corn starch, One teaspoon of vanilla, One teaspoon of salt, One half teaspoon ground cinnamon.

Preparation: Place sweet potatoes in a shallow two-quart baking dish coated with butter. Melt butter in a small saucepan over low heat, stir in corn syrup, brown sugar, cornstarch, vanilla, salt and cinnamon. Cook for a couple of minutes or until smooth, stirring frequently. Pour evenly over sweet potatoes; stir gently to coat. Bake in 350F oven for thirty minutes or until hot and bubbly
